Like many places around the UK, the snow has caused Old 20 Parts its fair share of problems. Traffic was brought to a stand still on the old Aston Lane after a lorry became stuck in the slippery conditions.
The lorry, which had completed its delivery and with a slightly unbalanced load, was backing out of the gate when it became stuck on two ungritted parts of the road. For the next 15 minutes the lorry tried effortlessly to manouvre forward and backwards but to no avail.
Eventually a local lad, Peter Spibey, was summoned to help with a rescue and he promptly arrived with his MF6480. Within no time at all Pete had attached the tow chain and begun towing the lorry forwards.
Finally the lorry was freed and managed a successful second attempt at reversing out the gateway. The lorry driver was very grateful and said "Thank the lord this young man was available. My next delivery is Inverness!"
We spoke to Pete afterwards who said "I was just kicking about at home building snowmen when the call came through that my services were required. I grabbed the tow chain and got here fast as I could, happy to help!"
